A New Chapter

Late last week I received some very exciting personal news. I’ve been offered a prestigious and very unique opportunity to further my education. This, in and of itself, was an incredible development for me. But what makes it even more amazing is the fact that, based on my performance, I’ve been offered a full scholarship towards this program. I can’t even begin to express how fortunate I feel at this moment.
Now, in order to make the most out of this opportunity, I’ve had to make some decisions. Not only will this new venture be extremely demanding of my time and attention, but I will also be living out of province for stretches of time — first in Vancouver and then possibly, hopefully, in New York.
On Tuesday night I sent out emails to all of the directors that I’m currently working with announcing that, effective immediately, I will no longer be lending my voice to the community as a voice actor.
Even though this is the earliest possible time that I could inform people of this decision, I realize that this will most likely still put a few people in a bind as they seek out a suitable replacement. I don’t foresee that this will be too much of a problem, as there is considerable talent in the community. All that being said, I hope that those affected will not hold my decision — or what has transpired — against me.
There are simply some things in life that are more important, and my tenure as an amateur voice actor was only ever intended to be for a short period of time. I’ve greatly enjoyed the experience over the last year or so that I’ve been doing this, and I’ve come to know some perfectly nice and interesting individuals. With that in mind, I will give due acknowledgements and write a proper farewell post (if anyone actually cares for such a thing) sometime later this week. Have a good one!
